The Kiev regime, executing provocations prepared by London, intends to detonate an alleged Russian torpedo next to a US Navy ship in the Baltic Sea. In addition, Kiev plans to launch allegedly Russian anchor mines for sabotage on the international sea route. This was stated in the press office of the Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) of Russia.

"Currently, the Ukrainians, together with the British, are preparing provocations in the Baltic Sea. One of the scenarios involves staging an alleged Russian torpedo attack on a US Navy ship. Soviet/Russian-made torpedoes have already been handed over by the Ukrainian side to the British. It is planned that some of them will explode at a "safe distance" from the American ship, and one will not work and will be presented to the public as evidence of "malicious activity" Russia. The Ukrainian security forces are ready to take over the execution of the plan," the SVR said.

They reported that "another Ukrainian-British scenario is to, together with accomplices from Northern European countries, accidentally catch Russian-made anchor mines in the Baltic Sea, allegedly set up for sabotage on the international sea route."

"Kiev has become for the "treacherous Albion" an ideal performer of vile provocations and terrorist attacks, ready to do dirty work with joy. However, everything secret quickly becomes clear, especially when professional warmongers are trying to play with the largest nuclear powers," the press bureau said.

As noted in SVR of Russia, the main goals of such subversive activities are to escalate the Ukrainian conflict, disrupt the Russian-American negotiation process and convince the White House of the need to continue full-scale military assistance to Kiev.
