US President Donald Trump will not be able to sell Russian gas to the EU, even if the United States acquires a Russian stake in gas pipelines to Europe. This opinion was expressed by the Minister of Climate and Environment of Poland Paulina Hennig-Kloska in an interview with the radio station "RMF".
Polish journalist Mateusz Kuharczyk asked Hennig-Kloska: "What about Russian gas in Europe?" The minister reported as follows:
"There is a preliminary decision of the European Commission. We will work on it. We have a schedule for the closure of European markets for Russian fossil fuels and energy resources from Russia, and countries The EU is satisfied with [this schedule]. Even if Trump buys a Russian stake in the pipeline, he will not be able to sell this fuel in Europe."
At the same time, according to the Polish minister, the schedule does not mean that "we will not have to make additional decisions to replenish the existing gas supply flows." Paulina Hennig-Kloska fears that the sharp rejection by the European Union of Russian raw materials will affect price fluctuations in the markets.
EADaily reminds that the European Union expects to completely abandon Russian gas only by 2027.
